William Burton
(He/Him/His)
MSW, RSW
Hello, my name is William (Reid) Burton. I hold a Master of Social Work degree and am a Registered Social Worker with the OCSWSSW (Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers). I am also a member of the OASW (Ontario Association of Social Workers) and the CASW (Canadian Association of Social Workers). Prior to becoming a Registered Social Worker, I worked in the social service field as a Developmental Service Worker and as a Youth Worker in the correctional system. I have been working professionally in clinical social work since 2021 as an Outpatient Social Worker in the health care field.
Who do I work with & What can I help with?
I work with teens and adults wishing to access therapy for a wide variety of reasons including anxiety and depression, grief, situational crises, and relationship challenges. I specialize in working with men dealing with mental health concerns requiring non-stigmatizing supports and a comfortable space to work through difficult emotions.
My Therapeutic Approach
I strive to provide my clients with an open, warm, collaborative, and supportive therapeutic environment and seek to tailor individualized care to meet each person’s needs. I have a calm disposition and connect with my clients through appropriate humor and a compassionate stance. I will provide both guidance and support in your therapeutic journey, “having your back”, while you disclose your personal story and as we work through the things that have brought you to therapy.
My Training
I have had formal education in CBT (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy), and Mindfulness. My practice is eclectic in nature and mixes talk therapy with the targeted use of these modalities to help meet your therapy goals.
What Else you Should Know
When you are ready to begin, I look forward to using my professional skills to accompany and support you on your therapy journey.

(She/Her/Hers)
Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Hi my name is Tara, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). I’m a registered member of the College of Registered Psychotherapist of Ontario (CRPO), and the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA).
Who do I Work With & What can I Help With? I have a passion to work with all people, of all ages! I understand how hard life can be and am empathetic to the struggles we are all dealing with. My ideal case load includes a mix of teens, adults, and couples. I strive to support each client with unconditional regard, acknowledging they know themselves best. I collaborate with each client to come up with goals and coping mechanisms that they feel comfortable and confident in implementing throughout all areas of their lives: work, school, and socially. This may include areas such as depression, anxiety, self-esteem, work stress, school behaviours, life transitions, relationship stress, and parenting support.
My Therapeutic Approach: I enjoy building a strong therapeutic alliance with all clients using warmth, humour, and honesty; I have been known to dabble in irreverant communication! My goal for each person is to not only feel comfortable and supported, but to look forward to and enjoy their sessions. Clients will feel secure, supported, and advocated for. I excel at building a solid rapport with both teens and adults- people are my thing!
My therapeutic approach centers on person-centred therapy. Each client is different! Within this framework I work with varying theories and modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Theory (CBT), Behavioural and Acceptance and Commitment Theory (ACT) and Dialectic Behavioural Therapy (DBT). My therapeutic modalities include Motivational Interviewing, and Strength and Solution-Based approaches. I enbrace challenge and am not afraid to explore all theories/modalities if I feel they could help my clients.
I use the Gottman Method Couples Counselling when working with couples. The goals of this methology are to disarm conflicting verbal communication, increase intimacy, respect, and affection, remove barriers that create a feeling of stagnancy, and create a heightened sense of empathy and understanding within the context of the relationship (https://www.gottman.com/about/the-gottman-method/). Couples counselling can be especially intimate and vulnerable; I hope to empower couples with the above tools to help build strong relationships!
Training: I have previously received my B.A in Education and now my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology! I have also completed Level 1 & 2 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
What Else Should you Know? I am approachable, friendly, and excited to work with you! I am available for TARApy Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays throughout the day/evening. Let’s work together to help you on your life journey!
